Ihmeet tapahtuvat muille – Lapsettomuuspäiväkirja
(The Infertility Diaries – Miracles Only Happen to
Other People)
”With this man, everything was different.
He would make a fantastic dad.”
A man and a woman meet, fall in
love, get married – and want to have
a family. But… wanting to be a parent
isn’t always enough. Anna-Kaisa
and Petri try for years without succeeding.
They take fertility tests only
to hear that there’s nothing wrong with them. And still no
sign of a baby, despite increasingly grueling treatments.
The Infertility Diaries – Miracles Only Happen to Other
People is an uncommonly touching and honest portrait of
what trying to have a child feels like.
Anna-Kaisa Hakkarainen (b.1975) lives and works in
Berlin as a writer and translator; she also has a PhD in
geography. Her writing on childlessness draws on years
of experience. Her family is now waiting to adopt: they
hope to be joined by a pair of siblings from Columbia.
